Sharon Stone is So Stupid
Sometimes you really want to help, but all you did are just making things complicated, or even worse...
The news was not that surprising, at least to me. I believe Sharon Stone, the big star had very good reasons to express herself in the public, but her way may be the worst one she should have never chosen.
First, she just insulted every one lives in China, every ordinary people who had nothing to do with the "suffering" the Tibetan had for years, actually, in some sense, us the Chinese are "suffering" too in this "China-featured Socialism". What Sharon said did not improve any situation for the Tibetans, but push the Chinese on the other side, against those who claimed they had sympathy for the Tibetans, because she just gave our Chinese media a very good chance to tell the ordinary Chinese that these western stars are simply hate us, jealous of our great achievement. Then, no matter what the westerns cry for, we will have "very good reason" to throw away;
Second, more than 60,000 people died in this disaster, huge numbers of the survivors are still struggling for life, if the Tibetans' lives are precious, how about the lives of the Chinese? If she really cares about lives on earth, I don't know how to explain her words about 'Karma';
Third, could her words improve the situation of the Tibetans? Actually, on the contrary, it may become worse. For many ordinary Chinese, they had no idea why the westerns thought the Tibetans were suffering in China, to the majority of the Chinese, Tibetans are more like brothers or sisters who live in this country, so Sharon's words did not just insult every Chinese in the world, but also push them back to the government and the ruling Party who made policies and rules to control Tibetans.
This incident reminds me the Iceland Singer Bjork, who cried 'Free Tibet' in Shanghai in her concert several months ago. What Bjork did can be also called: stupid. Because not only the situation in Tibet can't be improved, but also hindering the openness of China, after all, no government officials welcome anyone who brought "troubles" here. From then on, any foreign bands wanted to visit China, their schedules and arrangement should be strictly scrutinized and supervised. They can't help Tibet, and we can't enjoy music, all right, if that's what they want ...
What on earth do they want? A closed China who refuses to listen to the words from the outside? Every move those celebrities made just push the ordinary Chinese back to support the government and the ruling Party to be more tough to the western world. If they really want to help Tibet, they should know that they have to help China first, to become more open, more democratic, more willing to listen to its people, including the Tibetans, that's how things can change. Otherwise, they just make things complicated or even worse, after all, the government just need its people's support, what a foreign star said just meant nothing!
What I can see is that, these stars just keep showing their 'stupidity', and nothing more.
