今天在寝室看Harvey Richard Schiffman所著“Sensation and Perception”一书时发现这么一句:

The philosopher George Berkeley (who was also the bishop of Cloyne, Ireland, and whose name has been memorialized by the university town in California), questioned the very existence of an external world, proposing the unusual (by contemporary standards) empiricistic view that the world exists only through perception.
